    Industrial Metal Supply/Kearny Mesa/AR500

Has anyone used the AR500 plates from IMS? Are they a quality material or substandard? Price point makes them very attractive but if the quality is not there Id rather spend some more coin on something thats going to last.

    Cheers!

I bought a 4", 8", and 10" which I have yet to use. If it does not hold up like ar500 should, then they are mis-advertising... We shall see

Yes, I bought a 4" & an 8" and so far so good.

I've only taken them out once so far, and only shot with .223/5.56

I have them set up to swing rather than static. The picture is the 8" which was @ about 200 yards +/-

I did shoot the 4" with the AR at about 75 yards, but only once 'cuz it knocked my target stand over...

I doubt IMS would risk their reputation to make a couple of extra bucks on a hunk of metal.

              What thickness did you buy?
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Doesn't sound like AR500 in that case.

Awesome. They didnt have 8" 5/8 or 1/2" and dont know when they will get more in, so I had to go with the 6". For $16 it seems like a sweet deal.

My buddy shot my 1/2" gong at 50yrds with his Mosin and it barely made a dent. Good stuff there at a good price.

I was just at IMS Riverside today, to look at material to build a custom wrought iron gate. I completely forgot to see if they had AR500 at that location, and the price.

243 shouldn't go through AR500, but my dad hasn't shot my plates with his 243 bolt action yet. 223 and 30-06 don't do squat to the plates, even at 50 yards.
