PPT Trade & Seller Doesn't Include Accessories - Thoughts?

I bought a rifle from a fellow member here, and I'm almost certain I am "being played;" what are your thoughts and recommendations?
    - Rifle was $1,500 with aftermarket stock and Ergo grip; original parts included. Picture is the rifle with the aftermarket stock and grip already attached.
    - I offered $1,400, he says no aftermarket stock but I'll include the Ergo grip ($60 value); stock was already moved onto another rifle so it wouldn't have been included anyways
    - We do the PPT, he "forgets" the grip even though it was already attached in the pictures, he obviously took the time to remove the grip to put back the stock one, but says he will mail it to me so I give him my address. We both give each other positive iTrader feedback.
    - 2 weeks go by and nothing. I send him a friendly reminder with my address and his response was, "Sorry for the late response, was out of town all weekend. I can't find the grip. Sorry for the inconvenience and not getting back any sooner"

I'm sure people lose grips all the time, lose them onto another rifle more than likely. What are your thoughts? Any recommendations? Give him my PayPal address and tell him to send me $30 (half value of grip)? Contact a moderator and see if they let people revise feedback?

P.S., if you are reading this, and I am assuming you are, please don't insult me by saving you lost the grip as it was clearly stated that it was part of the package. You obviously took the time to REMOVE the grip before putting back on the aftermarket one.

He owes you a grip or $60. Nag the hell out of him.

Why did you buy it and walk away unhappy? The solution was to not buy it.

This, or you should have made him knock off the value of the grip. I know you trusted him and took him at his word, unfortunately now you know the value of that.

I all ways make sure to be clear and upfront about what is included in the sale, also at no time after I post something for sale do I start playing musical chairs with the components. The seller needs to man up and make it right, if not I believe you should ding him with negative feedback explaining why.

I would get a mod involved, seems like he just expected you to "Go Away" and not follow up on it.

Man, I am honestly sorry to hear this. I've actually had better luck doing this sort of stuff through FFL transfers than PPTs. The last time I met for a PPT the f****r showed up minus $50. He agreed atleast 3 times (phone call, email & text) to the price. I took it because I needed the money and drove all the way out there. Most people in this world are looking to screw other people over. Normally, I'd say give the guy a chance, but 2 weeks go by, he says he can't find it, and offers no compensation. Sounds like you found that guy. Good luck man.

I've had the bait and switch happen when the seller showed up with "missing" parts that were bullet points of included items. When I asked about them his response was "oh, I sold those". Yeah. Didn't tell me ahead of time to see if that would change the deal with me, assuming I'd take it anyways. So when I asked what the new price was since he pulled items, his response was same price we agreed on. I walked out and wrote about my experience here. He was honestly offended when he saw the posts and those saying he was a DB. He really didn't think he did anything wrong and thought my posting was uncalled for. Some people are amazing.

OP, you would do yourself some good in the future, and respond in the thread with an "I'll take it" and quote the OP in your post, that way even if the seller edits or deletes the post which contained all the details you still have your quoted post which the seller can't edit/delete it like the guy you are dealing with did (makes for great evidence in cases like this). Save all PM's, emails/electronic communications to detail what was discussed/agreed upon. Some people hate dealing in text/email but I find that it is the best way as it leaves a written record of the deal's details. This has come in handy for me more than once with a seller trying to screw me over. Happens a lot on Calguns it seems.

Hopefully the seller man's up and makes it right.

"Moms Demand Action" sounds less like a gun control group and more like the title of a porn flick from the mid-90s.

I've had 3 similar instances in my dabbling in the marketplace. I guess the takeaway is to be thorough when inspecting the goods before money changes hands. Don't get caught up in fast talk, verify that everything is as described/pictured in the original ad.

                      - missing 2nd grip at PPT (he promised to mail, never heard from him again, not a big deal, $15 or so)
                      - bought 1K loose rounds in ammo can (in addition to rifle+accessories). Counted 640 rounds later (PM'd, but never heard from him again, $75 lesson)
                      - seller forgot extra mag at PPT, (he actually delivered it later, honest mistake)

Best advice hands down. Especially when seller dashes back home and edits the original posting to remove what was originally agreed upon (the time stamp helps to point to something fishy, but better to have a snapshot of what was originally posted).

damn, that seller is a douchebag and we would appreciate it if you said who he is so the rest of us can avoid making any deals with him.

I've had one experience like that since moving to AZ, met up for a trade, ammo was included both ways since they were different caliber guns. Got home and two boxes were half empty. Guy apologized and PayPald me cash that more than covered the cost of the ammo.
