I'm headed to Reno later this week for a short gambling trip. Does anybody know if Scheels, Cabellas, Walmart, etc have any bulk .22L or .223 ammo available?

No bulk 22 anywhere. Cabelas and Scheels have ammo. I believe Scheels has no limit on ammo while cabelas does.sigpic

I was there a couple months ago and both had limits on ammo and neither had 22lr.

Cabelas at Boomtown
Just came through and decided to stop in. Should have just kept going. Didn't have 100 boxes of ALL handgun ammo. Fiochhi and some Herters and just a few boxes of Federal and no 22.
Rifle and shotgun the situation is a bit better.*** In comparing the virtues of various calibers, using hollow point ammo: it is absolutely undeniable that, while a 9 mm or .40 S&W may or may not expand, a .45 will never shrink. ***Comment

It's too bad 22LR is relatively cheap; the hoarders and flippers aren't running out of money because of that. The AR buying binge ended real quick as people didn't have $2K to buy another one. It's just amazing how fast they suck up any 22.Comment

So no .22 ammo at Scheels, Cabella's or Walmart in Reno. Scheels and Cabella's both had plenty of .223 and most other calibers on the shelf. One of the salesmen at Scheels said they get small shipments twice/week but it disapears quickly. I'm heading back in November and maybe I'll be able to score thenComment

I managed to score a bucket of 22lr at Cabelas in September , but it was happenstance. I just happen to be in the right place at the right time when they put it out. 10 mins later it was GONE. First and only 22lr I have been able to get this year.Limit politicians to two terms. One in office and one in jail.

Ive had fairly good luck with pretty much all ammo by just hitting my local shops and walmart on a almost daily basis, that being said I live by three walmarts, atleast 4 gun shops and a couple big box sporting good stores

I was in reno last weekend, plenty of ammo EXCEPT 22lr. prices were decent, but not better than you get online.Comment
