    Interstate C&R Transfer Questions...

    Hey all,

I have my 03 FFL and CA COE. My parents would like to transfer a few of my Grandfather's guns to me. All are C&R, 1 shotgun, 1 rifle, and 1 pistol.

I know the pistol has to go to an 01 FFL. But after doing a lot of research I'm confused on two things. I know I can receive the long guns if they were coming from an out of state licensed dealer. But my folks cannot find a shop in their area (within 30mi) that will ship to CA. All of them cite too much red tape.

    1) Is it legal for them to ship the long guns directly to me, or does the shipment need to originate at an FFL?

    2) Can they ship the pistol direct to an FFL in CA?

After doing a bunch of research I couldn't seem to get a clear answer on these questions. Thanks in advance.

The C&R long guns can be shipped to you directly by them. No dealer is need on your end since you have a C&R license.

The pistol can be shipped to any FFL01 that will accept from a private party
