Stanislaus National Forest Road Closures?

Has anyone been up there as of late? I'm supposed to go up there with my dad next week and we usually take Cherry Lake Road to fish at Cherry lake. Someone told me it would be open Oct 22nd then someone else told my dad it wouldn't be open for years due to the fire.

I tried calling the rangers office but they are shut down due to the govt shutdown Any info is appreciated

Yup, the gate was open when I got there...


The only forest order I could find re: Cherry lake was this one, It just says you cant camp within 100' of the HIGH WATER mark (not just 100' from the water...)

All of that is closed until next year due to the fire.

Looks like the SNF within the fire boundaries are closed thru September 2014.
