Im making a purchase from a fellow calgunner this weekend. The address on my license isn't my current address. Is that a problem? The address on my license has always been current in the past.

Maybe I'll bring my car registration with my current address also.

Typically it needs to be your current address on your license. You should call the shop your doing the ppt at and ask them what are your options.

It is very common for your DL license not to match your current. This is because the DMV doesn't send a new license when you change your address.

As such, your DL will act as proof of age and identity and a secondary document like your vehicle registration or a utility bill will act as your proof of residence during a firearm purchase.

I'm in the same boat, as long as both your license and registration is not expired you'll be good.

They don't give you a new one on an address change? Texas sends a new one any time there is a change. Weird.

Nope. I have purchased and PPT'd a LOT of firearms this year and my DL doesn't have my current address.

I did a PPT earlier this year. My PO box # is shown on my dl and was not acceptable.
I got by with my propane (utility) bill that has my physical address on it. Nothing else did, but I was told a landline phone bill, or other utility bill is ok as long as it has a physical address on it.

OP,

If you're address on the license is not your current address you must have a GOVT document with your name and current address to support your bad address on the license. Utility bill will not work since it is not a gov't doc. It must be a govt doc. The vehicle reg will serve as your proof of residency and it will also backup your license.
