        You have an awesome wife

On a serious note, I do have a Sig220 under the bed in a gun vault (kids in the house) as well as a small safe in the room with a bunch of other goodies should the need arise

Glock 17 with 2x 17rd. mags on top of the nightstand and in case of (ZWBA) or Zombies with Body Armor attack i also keep my Desert Eagle .50 and its rig which includes 4 mags and a surefire 9P, in my night stand. This also alows me to go check out a noise and leave my wife armed. I also make sure and keep two powerful flashlights in my nightstand. One being the surefire and the other a powerful Inova. This enables me to take one with me when i go to check out a noise and to also leave one with my wife. I was the victim of a Armed Home Invasion Robbery in my first apartment when i moved out of my parents home. I was caught in a situation where i had to hold a door shut while my .45 was in my nightstand across the room from me. I now keep a Winchester 1300 defender 12ga. behind the bedroom door and something similar in the livingroom. I also have a well crafted plan as to how my wife and i will handle a situation like that if we should ever find ourselves in that position again. I do not expect to ever be in that situation again but i sure as hell never planned on being involved in one the first time! Having a plan is just as important as having the tools to implement that plan. Right now its fairly simple being that it is just my wife and myself in the house. When we have kids we will have to alter it accordingly. I was unprepared when it happened to me the first time and the situation was more complex since i had a roomate at that time and was unable to protect him. Thank God no one was hurt and all that was taken were things that could be replaced so all in all we were very very lucky!

I tried that, but if my girl isn't next to me who the hell will wake me up before the robbers roll me off the bed because its the last item in my hose.

Loaded model 22 glock .40, and an 870 with AR stock 6 in tube 6 on the side with surefire light for checking stuff out. Girlfriend sleeps next to a XD.9 V10 ported 4in. I think its a safe room LOL two bedrooms over the roommate is well armed as well. I think Im going put the glock in the safe and keep my new XD tactical .45 next to me when my ten days are up

My saiga and my shotgun are my bedside guns. Never know if an intruder is wearing body armor.

i keep a picture a framed photo of the Dalai Lama so the intruders and I can share a hug after I offer them some cheese and crackers.

                    well, not really.

Nothing says "my family is worth protecting" like a Remington 870 with buckshot in it.

There's a Taurus PT145 sub compact on my nightstand with a Surefire P1 next to it. On the coffee table in the living room there's a loaded H&K USP .40
I don't have any kids and just the wife and I here. When we have guests over all of my guns go in the safe untill they leave.

As soon as I get it, my bedside weapon will be a Benelli SuperNova tactical with a Tac Star mag extension, and will be loaded with six shells of 3 1/2" 00 Buckshot

For the time being, I have 4 knives of varying sizes/shapes/lengths, a Nike baseball bat, a small LED flashlight, a water bottle, an alarm clock, and a piece of gum...
