Mastercard fires back at VISA

Priceless...

I have yet to see any indicator that Mastercard actually has anything to do with this, and it seems closer to those starbucks guns and coffee shirts and stickers people were gaga over.
We'd be best to just leave it alone and let mastercard silently take the business that visa doesn't want, rather than trying to force it as some pro gun issue when the people running mastercard likely don't care.Comment

It's not fud, and it has nothing to do with you using your visa card. It's a matter of what business the payment processor(in this case authorize.net which is apparently owned by visa) wants to get involved with. Which has apparently recently been denying business to business owners who deal with firearm related goods.Comment

That used to be part of Glock's "somebody picked the wrong X" videos. I haven't heard anything about Visa not allowing such purchases... sounds wonky to me.
I know about the situation with Hyatt shop I'm curious if they are extending that policy to the rest of us.sigpic

The letter they show is from
Authorize.Net I think they are a processor.
The super parent company is VISA, though.Originally posted by WebologistI am in a sympathy-free zone as well. A leftist brown shirt reaping what he sowed after profiting from it is sweet justice indeed.Comment

You're not getting it.
It isn't that visa is not allowing purchases, it's that they're not allowing retailers to use authorize.net as their payment processor. If you want to accept credit cards, you need to have an account with a payment processor, if authorize.net gives you the finger because they don't want to do business with Uriah02's Gunshop, then you need to find another payment processor elsewhere so you can accept cards.Comment

So many forum members with all this access to all the happenings firearms related... and they still havent heard of the visa anti gun stance from LAST WEEK???? Yes the payment processor 'authorize net' is anti gun. They ARE owned and used by visa parent corporation....
What do you people spend your time reading here? FigherPilot in OT? (No offense FP!)
Yes the commercial was probably faked.Comment

I wonder if this had anything to do with Bass Pro Shops recently switching their Store Card from Visa to MasterCard? I received new cards for both our accounts a couple months ago.Comment

I doubt very seriously Bass Pro uses authorize.net
More than likely they have a vendor account with their bank.Comment
