I just got back from having Victor at Micro Laser Welding Inc. laser etch a lower that I'm giving my son for Christmas upon returning from Afghanistan.
All I can say is WOW !
It came out SOOOOO much nicer than I thought it would and did absolutely no harm to the lower in the process.
Victor and his wife are great people and they have a talent that will blow you away. The process is very fast and looks very impressive. Excluding all the BSing we did - it actually took only a few minutes to do it.
I sent Victor a .jpeg of what I wanted. It was very detailed and included a lot of very small lines. When I got to his place he was ready to go with an EXACT reproduction of what I had sent him.
My initial fear was the the lettering was so small the scroll script I wanted would all run together and not look very good. My stuff was like a billboard compared to what he is capable of doing ! He had a ring that had what looked like an intricate scroll design on it but looking at it with a magnifying glass you could see it was all letters !
VERY, VERY impressed !
The only drawback is he is not an FFL so you would have to go there in person to have a lower done. His equipment can accommodate an entire rifle so you don't have to break it down to have it done.
How about a etching party at his place ??
I paid $70 for him to do mine.
Here's a photo of what he did. I tried to take good shots but in person they look even better. I'm going to fill the lettering with red to stand out against the black.
Thanks Victor ! Here's his facebook link https://www.facebook.com/LaserEngravingWelding
