Chinese Broomhandle Mauser - C&R????

I found someone who has a Chinese Broomhandle Mauser in 9mm. Is it a C&R? The FFL dealer said he could find no date stamped on the gun, not in the ATF book and no information to say when they were made. Common sense seems to dictate it is at least 50 years old. Any idea how I can prove it qualifies as a C&R?

I'm fairly sure pistols still have to go through an FFL.

In 9mm? It could be a Navy Arms TU-711, which is considered a modern firearm as they were basically built for import in the 90s out of original Mauser frames & parts. Is it import marked?

It doesn't matter if it C&R, its a hand gun and therefore must go through a FFL. In California anyways.

The modern Chinese broomhandles have detachable mags- you'd know if you saw one. Plus they're AWs in CA.

I think you two are forgetting that C&R handguns are exempt from The Roster. He can't buy one from a dealer unless he or the gun is exempt from The Roster.
