Original reason for buying your first gun?

Mine was for Home defense, then bought a second one for backup, then another one to backup the backup , and now finally ... collection.

Just got a bug up my rear. My dad actually bought it for me as a birthday gift because I said I wanted one and he wanted to keep that family tradition alive.

My dad's business partner gave me a free training certificate to Front Sight and paid for my airfare if I remember correctly. Needless to say he get's treated like an uncle and I have been trying to spoil him back ever since.

It started as wanting to have a gun around for HD, but also to go shooting with my buddies---then it became a hobby...

i don't recall that there was a specific reason that was a driving force in the decision to purchase a gun. i had already owned a gun before making my first purchase of one.

I was seven and I'd been saving my lawn mowing money all summer.

My brother got a video game, I got a Marlin 60. Less than $50 at KMart.

Always liked guns. When I turned 21 I bought one. I used it.for target practice a few times and it was my HD gun for 6 years and never considered buying another one until one night when my wife said she saw someone in the backyard. I grabbed the gun went to the yard, my dog was going nuts he didnt even let me open the gate all the way and he rushed twords the back of the yard and meanwhile Im standing there and I realized I needed a new HD gun. Then it turned into 3rd 4th 5th and so on. Now it just something I really enjoy collecting.

By the way I didnt see anyone but who ever it was stepped into my dogs crap and left a nice streek on the wall as he jumped back over. Who said Boxers dont make good guard dogs.

I was always fascinated with knives, misc weapons, and firearms. When I turned 21, I researched online to find out what I needed to have to purchase one and bought the first one.
                            FOR SALE:
                            A2 birdcage $5
WTT CCI small pistol primers for either large pistol, small rifle, or large rifle

Fascination of the unknown, was between guns or sex and I was too scared to have sex at 11.
