Well I finally got the toy I was really looking foward too (no not the fun beads)! The extar exp 556 all polymer design. I read about this thing about 7 months ago, and was waiting for some reviews before I bought it, but not a lot of people have this thing.
After the long wait I finally decided to just purchase it and see how it is. And this thing was 10x as much fun as I thought it would be.
Now, I have a AR pistol build and this thing in my opinion is much more fun. Key word FUN.
First off, its really light, I shot this thing with one hand and almost no weight on it or recoil. Even my girl (who complaints about 9mm) loved it. Secondly, the muzzle blast and percussion was intense the fireballs it shoots out is even more then a deagle 50 cal. Its around the same blast as a m44 (I would compare it too gonorrhea
). Thirdly, this thing is definitely an attention getter. I don't mind when people come and talk to me about my guns I enjoy it, but with this thing EVERYONE wanted to test it out. Reason being its sooooo loud everyone could hear it.
This thing is probably not going to put nice groups at 100 yards, but I was hitting the steel at 100 yards with its iron sights offhand. Oh And the polymer trigger, has absolutely no play and is very crisp, feels around 3-4 pounds. Very very very nice trigger I think thats what surprised me the most.
Definitely thinking of adding a bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight and trying to put some groups downrange. Put 600 rounds threw this thing, tried 5 different ammo that I had laying around and ate everything like a sumo wrestler.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this thing for the price the fun CANT be beat. Only thing that bothered me is the lower trigger, hammer, safety and mostly everything is made out of polymer. Im not going to change it, but if something changes in function I will defiantly report back. And please don't shoot this thing too much because the blasts gave me an intense headache afterwards, I over did it as I usually do when I go to the range.
