DIP Products Inc. = Poor Customer Service

Bought a 19053 CZ 455 .22WMR(Magnum) 10 RD Polymer Magazine from DIP that was defective at the outset- the first time I used it the spring was too weak to feed the last 1-2 rounds.
Sent an email to DIP explaining the defect and how to return for a replacement Magazine. This is what DIP said:
    "Sir

Thank you for your recent order. You will need to contact CZ USA about the magazine as they would be the ones covering the warrantee. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Thank you, Robert

If a retailer ships a defective product they should accept a return and provide a full refund or replace it. Apparently, DIP thinks otherwise and as such I won't be buying from the DIP s..ts anymore.

I am not sure why you think this is a recent development. This has been the status quo for many retailers big and small.

Which means what? That DIP should have tested that magazine before selling it to you?

You should call the UCC Article 2 police on Amazon and see what they say.

        Amazons return policy regarding computers.
All computers sold by Amazon.com are supported by the computer's manufacturers. In the unlikely event that a computer appears to be defective, please contact the customer support network for the computer manufacturer to have it serviced under warranty.

What does Amazon have to do with DIP? Clearly you don't understand the UCC and the seller warranties provided to consumers purchasing from commercial retailers. Unlike Amazon, there is NO warranty disclaimer on DIP's website. Apples and oranges, but carry on in ignorance if you prefer.

          "Store Policies
It is this stores policy to try and get all orders of in stock items placed before 4pm PT(Pacific Time) shipped the same business day. It does not always happen but for the most part, it does.

Shipping and handling fees are not refundable.

All sales of Special Orders, Clearance Corner purchases and Custom Gunsmith parts and services are final.

Returns and exchanges will be accepted when a DIP Customer Service Representative gives prior authorization.

Sorry, but shipping charges are non-refundable

All exchanges will be subject to a return shipping cost.

All returns must have Customer original packing slip inside, date of RMA request and assigned RMA number on the outside of the package or the process will be delayed or rejected.

Customers have 30 days from the date of purchase to return unused merchandise in the original unopened packages.

The merchandise and packaging must be in resalable condition, returns not meeting these conditions will be subject to credit evaluation.

Merchandise returned will be subject to a minmum 20% restocking fee depending on condition and credit evaluation.

All credits for invoices paid by credit card will be credited back to the credit card if returned within the 30 day period, all others will be issued as store credit. All credits for invoices paid by cash, money order, or check will be applied to the customers account for credit towards the next order.

Any in store credit not used within 120 days will become void.

DIP, Inc charges a $35.00 fee for returned checks.

Replacements will be sent to a customer when one of the DIP, inc quality control personnel declares the manufacturers’ materials and or craftsmanship as defective.

Customer modifications, damage caused by improper installation or items installed for other purposes then the original intent will be returned at the customers expense and no credit given.

Please allow 2-3 weeks after arrival to DIP for returns to be processed."

Back up a bit. My first comment was this was not abnormal for retailers to refer defective product returns to their respective manufacturers.

You replied with that UCC information - but failed to specify how any of it applies to your purchase of a CZ magazine they are reselling.

I then showed you an example of a BIG retailer referring defective product returns to the manufacturer. That is what Amazon has to do with DIP.

So what are you gonna do? Oh yeah this is the internet. You already did it.

It's pretty simple, DIP does not disclaim commercial seller warranties that consumers have according to Article 2 of the UCC, unlike Amazon does with "some" of their products (not all of them, I have returned a few defective products to Amazon without any issues). Consequently, DIP should therefore replace the defective magazine or refund the purchase price. I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation, do you?

No, its not unreasonable at all. But I also think its perfectly reasonable to refer you to the manufacture for support and warranty. Let CZ determine what is wrong with THEIR product and work out a suitable solution with you.

I hardly think this is any reason to go ape**** on the internet.

good question indeed, DIP has not responded.

If you return it to CZ and complain they might send you TWO to compensate you for your troubles.

I know I got extra mags from Taurus when mine had issues.

thanks for the tip. In view of DIP's bizarro breach of warranties under the UCC, that is good to know.

Update: DIP continues to ignore the issue.
Called CZ twice, left messages, no response.

The indifference of these 2 companies is astonishing.
