KPOS 226 - Sig 226 to P.D.W Conversion -Fab Defense legal issues

I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the KPOS P.D.W. conversion kits that are available for Sig 226, Glock and other pistols that convert them to a short barreled rifle or SBR. I understand that there are federal considerations that include a tax stamp from the ATF to consider. What would that cost?

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here. As I don't want legal issues with the Ca DOJ, perhaps I should ask if this conversion can be legal here in the State of California at all with appropriate registration and fees being paid. Seems like a cool platform in any event. Just might be too much of a hassle.

Any opinions on this out there?

    Thanks!

Private citizens can't get an SBR tax stamp in CA. You could get an FFL + SOT + CA Dangerous Weapons Permit to get ahold of one, but then you have to "be in the business" of firearms in order to keep your FFL and if your license ever goes away, so does your SBR.

OK then. That's not going to happen in my lifetime. I guess that would really put me on the radar screen.

      Thanks for the response.
