    Polymer 80 Unicorns

Just so you guys know the owner hyped, and mislead alot of members on a Maryland Shooters forum.

Excuse after excuse. I wasnt one of them, and told these guys over and over to get a 80% from somehwere else. Others did as well. Bottom line is alot of people banked on empty promises, and are now never able to aquire a AR in MD again. The SB281 law goes into effect tomorrow 10/01 which bans the sale of the AR15 as well as others.

I saw this thread on CalGuns and was so excited! I could try a poly lower without an FFL and all I need is my dewalt hand drill. I immediately posted that I wanted one with the intention to buy 100 for an MDS group buy. Presale price is $85 shipped for lower and jig Once they are in stock...

Just some FYI for you guys to make you own decisions. Hopefully the mods keep this up so Calguns members dont get hosed as well. MODS please see the link above, its a active thread.

I am currently waiting for lower from Polymer80, and think the guys from P80 have generally been great about keeping everyone in the loop. Anytime you go into a new field and create a unique product for the first time there are inevitably delays.

I am really surprised that some of the Maryland shooters put all their eggs in this basket. If I knew I had a finite amount of time to acquire something I would definitely not invest in such a new product.

I hope most the guys in Maryland were able to get lowers elsewhere and I REALLY hope their laws are struck down shortly.

Alright I was wrong, and have to openly admit it. I had implyed that this was a potential scam.

Glad it worked out for everyone.

The owners were really nice and helpful when I called about the product.

They were late with delivery, but they have come through. I got all that I ordered by USPS Priority Mail on Saturday. Product looks very and included was the jig and all the drill bits needed to complete it.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Are they Still selling These. I looked on The Link and did not see a price or Where to order. Is it better to call them.

They were naive about the realities of manufacturing but the initial reactions on the first 500 they've shipped seem very positive and they're supposed to have a big batch coming in Tuesday to clear out their back orders.

Definitely sucks for people who missed their 10/1 cutoff but seriously, if you knew you had a ban coming up, why in the world would you ONLY order from a company that wasn't shipping yet? Back in December I ordered from every reputable company that would take backorders and built what I needed and flipped the extras at reasonable rates with no problems. And by the time Polymer80 was even taking orders the ship times from BRS or Quentin were getting pretty reasonable and the prices had dropped some.

Nice of you to admit they aren't crooks in your followup but I don't think that quite covers the original idea that Polymer80 is responsible for any MD shooters who are ARless. Polymer80 should have been plan B or C not their only plan.
