    Assaulted HD Download... really?

I got the link to my download today (showed up in my junk mail, almost missed it) and it wants me to install some proprietary DRM software that I'm never going to use, AND make an account in said software for some company that I've never heard of... Why? I'm not even sure I want to make an account, but I do want to see the film I supported. As a regular Windows user, I'm usually leery of downloading and installing any 'media player' that I'm not familiar with in the first place. Is there anything that can make me feel better about these obstacles blocking me from watching Assaulted?

That's a bummer. I hate having to download and sign up for irrelevant stuff just to watch a video. I still wanted to watch it too.

Who knows? Hopefully we can get some more information at least. Best case scenario would be a DRM-free release for backers, unless they're locked into some contract with their distributors or something.

You could buy the DVD. Problem solved.

We pledged and were promised an HD download. Making us install some software that requires us to sign up for an account and making it so that we can't watch the movie wherever we want (the code to download is single use) because of ridiculous DRM is pathetic.

Now the movie is stuck on my computer and I can't watch it on my TV like I was hoping to.

            Also, DVDs aren't HD.

When DVD's output HD quality, then the problem will be solved.

I've heard of this, it's a new copyright-protect sort of software. The idea is that people 'rent' a movie online, download it and then can only watch it one time using their player. It's legit and I understand the reasoning behind it but I don't like it either.

Drm doesn't work. Been proven time and time again, it only pisses off the end consumer. Was hoping to get mine today, didn't seen it in the mailbox.

Yeah, I'm not very happy about this. Will probably end up buying the DVD, as I would like to watch the movie again.

DRM generally lets you "license" the content. The whole DRM thing kind of surprises me as this was a project that was funded by US, and it's something you want a HUGE audience to see with hopes they'll wake up.
