I think the reason Dakota tactical is so expensive is because they use actual demilled H&K MP5 parts.

Vector makes a good gun; really close to an HK in fit and finish - the only problem is supply, and last I checked they hadn't made them in a while. I could be wrong now, but they were unavailable for the longest time.

The Vectors are currently available for sale from Atlantic Firearms for approx $2,300. From what I've heard they aren't as good as the Getz or the turners and I'm told the Dakota is th "rolls-Royce" of mp5 clones. But idk if it's worth the $3600 plus all the fees to get it in CA

Thanks for the update; I'll have to look into that with Atlantic. True, with the Vectors, you have to look at each one specifically. I have seen some better than others. However, having seen each in person, except for the Dakota, I think the Vector is better than what people are telling you. I have even heard of people confusing the Coharie with being made by Vector for some reason, and thinking they were the same. Not even close.

But, old adage is, you get what you pay for, and from the description, that Dakota sounds like it might be worth it.

We have actually had 4 vectors v53's (.223) and they all ran well without problems. The only problems with these 4 Vectors is that all the sites were off and could not be adjusted enough to shoot straight. Vector does not properly align the barrel / triunions correctly when welding the parts into the receivers. I do not know about the quality of the 9 mm's but 4 out of 4 vectors V53s has siting problems that could not be corrected.

Mike Turner's German Part Build guns are just about as good as the original German HKs. We have had the opportunity to compare Mike Turner's work to all the German HK 9x guns. This would include the HK91, HK93, HK94, and SP89. We have also experience with the Dakota and IGF HK type Firearms as well.

Mike laser sites the guns during the manufacturing process to ensure they fire right on target right out of the box. The finish he applies to the guns is also perfect.

Mike Turner's work is top quality. The attention to detail is exact. You cannot go wrong with a Turner Fabrications made gun.

All the US made clone receivers come with round edge scope mount tabs that must be milled flat in order to accept HK style claw mounts. He is the only builder I know of who actually takes the time to mill the flats correctly such that an HK style claw scope mount will attach correctly. All the other guns from other builders we encountered do not mill flat the scope mount tabs and therefore their guns typically cannot accept an HK style claw scope mount.

Your best choices for HK Clones are Turner Fabrications and Dakota Tactical.

Dakota is the best.. But I have a DJ Getz and love it.. Vette nicely done and has great features .. And it's 'full auto' ready if you ever get a registered sear....

Oh.. And for the money the Getz is better than the Vector.. Sorta hard to compare it to the Dakota since the Dakota is over a grand more

All three of the gun builders have been popular the Getz guns are very nice but not many are produced making them very hard to get. We currently have been getting a somewhat steady supply from Turner Fabrications however orders are outstripping their ability to build and we do not want to rush the build and sacrifice the quality . If you want one of the German or US Full sized pistols it would probably take 2 -3 weeks to fill the order & ship out .
