    Glock 23

Hello. I'm a new member living in NY State. Tough here like CA. Are Glock 23 Gen 3s with 10 rd mags legal in CA.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Yes it's legal. As a person moving here from out of state I don't believe you have anything to worry about beyond a threaded barrel. Magazines over 10 rounds should be disassembled.

What are the basic regs or restrictions on handguns?

10 rd mags, no threaded barrel, no suppressors, no full-auto.

I could go on and on, but you need to do SOME research yourself.

Depends on what you want to know. For example we have the "roster" of guns legal to sell to non-LEO, but the roster doesn't actually restrict ownership of handguns that aren't on the roster. This makes legal to own and legal to sell two completely different questions.

All the Gen 3 Glocks are on the roster so are legal to both own and sell. Gen 4 Glocks are not on the roster, and likely never will be, so are legal to own, are legal to buy from a private party, are legal to buy using a temporary modification called a single shot exemption, but are not legal to sell right out of the box.

Then there is the 10 round limit on magazine sales, and the assault weapon ban which generally just means handguns with detachable magazines can't have threaded barrels. There's more stuff to that too, but the threaded barrels is the most common problem you'd run into.

Then there is carry and transport law, can't shoot in any urban area except west Oakland, etc.
