SB568 prohibits marketing BB guns to children, however many local cities classify Airsoft as BB guns: (8) BB device, as referenced in Sections 16250 and 19910 of the Penal Code.

As a pseudo-adult, I think Airsoft is mostly marketed to children, even though adults have them.

Menifee had a great ban planned( http://www.cityofmenifee.us/ArchiveC...wFile/Item/189 ), however when they signed it, they goofed the references in exceptions for 1/2 acre properties ( http://www.cityofmenifee.us/ArchiveC...wFile/Item/345 ) and referenced 11.25.20 as an exception, instead of 11.25.30 when it was signed in the end.

Temecula's law search pages is down, like always when doing a search, so I can't find crap about Temecula BB gun laws.

The airsoft guns my kids use have springs, not air, the expel the plastic ball.

With the exception of Menifee, the laws you cite above say "propelled by the expansion of gas" and "that discharges a paintball and/or pellet or other object by force of gas or air cylinder or cartridge."

That said, I have my kids shoot them in my back yard.
