Will this satisfy Federal ATF / CA DROS ID requirements?

I am trying to buy my first handgun, but I am worried because my Driver's License address is not my current address. My Driver's License has my parents address on it... All the utilities at my parents address is obvious in their names, not mine...

However, If I provide the FFL Dealer with:
    - CA Driver's License with OLD ADDRESS
    - Property Deed showing my CURRENT ADDRESS of the house I own and live in
    - City of Pasadena Water & Power Utility showing my CURRENT ADDRESS (from reading another thread, it seems like this qualifies as a government issued document)

    BTW, I am US Citizen.

Will this be sufficient to pass the ID requirements?

Nope, your CDL and all other proofs of residency have to have your current address on them. Sorry, but that's the way it goes.

Unless the rules are different for pistols that is not correct.

I bought two rifles with an old address on my DL (within the last year from different shops). But I had other government paperwork such as car registration and mail forward info from the post office (which I redid just to have the paperwork for one purchase.... I used the car registration for the second). But they definitely wanted one form to be government related / util bill alone would not cut it.

Sounds like you found a FFL that is willing to risk prosecution to illegally deliver firearms to you. Sorry, but I'm not wrong. The FFL who accepted your ID knowing that the address was wrong was the one who doesn't know the law. But, hey, you're the expert here and will probably make a great jailhouse lawyer soon.

quote the law; otherwise I'm going with my lying eyes.

          PS
two separate FFLs btw... and it would have to be luck; I didn't shop for ones with this notion of how the law worked.

Bottom line is always what the FFL Dealer is willing to do.

You can study and learn the law backwards and forwards. FFLs still get their own ideas about what is correct that often have nothing to do with the law as written. Being right is not often persuasive.

Ask around to various FFL Dealers and see what they are willing to accept.

When I bought my last rifle just under 2 months ago, all they wanted was my DL. And I had not been to this FFL before.

Just take your ID (mine has a PO box) and your cars pink slip. Thats all I needed.

                  That should be fine

Sorry CSA, your CADL doesnt have to have the current address. You must have one as part of the proper DROS paperwork, but if the address on it is not current, then you must show two other proofs of residency. The utility bill and the deed satisfy those two POR requirements.

This is sufficient since you are providing a valid CA ID and a proof of residency from a government entity. The deed would not be needed. You'll need a HSC also.

                    Sorry CSA..

I just put a lower and handgun in jail at riflegear and my drivers license had my old address on it and my car registration (current address) was used as a second form of id.

You can go to the dmv and get a change of address form filled out. They will hand you a little orange card with a DMV stamp that will supplement the address change.
That with youre rental contract or registration and you should be gtg.

Ive done it at a reputable gun store

The DMV brown card is not usable for a firearms transaction.
