    Geissele SSA-E FCG Question

I am thinking about purchasing the Geissele SSA-E FCG. I also am looking at the WMD NIB-X BCG that includes the Nikel Boron coated hammer. Could I or should I replace the hammer from the Geissele FCG with the coated WMD one?

I run the Geissele s3g trigger and hammer with the light spring that came with it. It runs great for 3 gun competitions. I run it as it came out of the package with no mods or adjustments. I am not familiar with hammer upgrades but I have gathered from other posts that Geissele is high end stuff that doesn't need to be messed with. I just read that the Geissele triggers should only be used with the supplied pins vs. upgraded pin-anti rotation pins if I remember correctly. I haven't heard anything regarding their hammers.

The 3g trigger is very light but I have no problem moving around courses of fire with it. I also use the safety and keep a close eye on where I rest my trigger finger when moving. It beats the crap out of a stock trigger and it does good for plinking and bench shooting considering it is designed for rapid fire. I can see why they have such a good reputation.

I searched for wmd nib-x bcg and found some good reviews but not much on hammers. I am pretty new to the AR game, so I am a bit curious to see how the Geissele compares to other hammers. Sorry I didn't have more answers for you OP, but I wanted to chime in on the Geissele product. Here is a free bump.

I don’t see why you would want to do that??? Just because you want a NIB coating on the hammer?

You are taking a known working FCG setup and introducing parts that may or may not interface well…. Your results could be a crap shoot.
