Will SB374 doom more of our LGS's?

Maybe some of the bigger chains or sporting good stores can make it without them, but, I get the feeling that many of the smaller local gun shops, where their main inventory is gun related, are gonna take a huge hit with these gun bans

Obviously, the bread and butter for many of these LGS's are the modern rifles that they are no longer going to be able to carry for sale...more fallout you can expect, if these bill's become law, will be more LGS closures, which will also start affecting your convenience, when it comes to purchasing still legal firearms

SB374 is dealing a huge blow, to not only our right to purchase said firearms, but, the ability for local gun shops to stay in business without them...just saying

YES. I've already spoken with several I work with and they said that they will basically be done. Between the loss of AR's and other black rifles and SSE's they will not have enough to keep the doors open.

Yup! Simple answer! I went to order my Winchester Model 70 on Saturday and asked my small LGS what happens in January if the new garbage isn't vetoed - he said, we fold. He said we can't live on pump shotguns, revolvers, and a few bolt action rifles...

I felt bad - more FAXes, more calling, more e-mails...

Yup, just think of all the LGS that have popped up in the past 5 years, mainly driven by SSE and black-rifle sales

It's what the ruling elite wants. Ban one class of firearms and gun shops close their doors. Bingo, all new firearm sales drop to zero!

(A little bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.)

Part of the tyranny is constantly creating uncertainty with new laws and regulations.

Every industry and business needs to be able to plan in a stable market, and know that the rug will not be pulled out from under them...their inventory or property seized or outlawed etc.

Brown needs to protect businesses from this type of arbitrary tyranny, including the lead ban

California is now acting like a capricious dictatorship.

I think that there's a possibly that pawn shop ffl's will become a bigger player in the market. They're already putting themselves on the radar with better customer service and lower dealer fees. The LGS's may have the advantage on some specialized knowledge, but unfriendly employees make that a mute point.

Fortunately, true gun enthusiasts have a wide range of appreciation for many gun types. We'll still need LGS's for our bolt actions/lever actions/pumps/handguns/supplies/etc. Sales of rifles overall will go down, but semi auto handguns will go up....way up.

With all of the solutions for BS374 (yes, let's call it BS374!) compliance coming out, ARs and AKs may become neutered but I don't see them not being able to be sold, they will just have to comply with the letter of the law. Sure, some gun stores will not survive but I don't agree with all of this doom and gloom that all small gun stores will go under.

The liberals would love these LGS to be selling handbags, sunglasses, cellphones, jewelries, and watches instead of guns.

The ones that utilize new products i.e. mr2 may be okay. Others, well if I didn't see a poster at their shop to inform people and if their sales people never mentioned the laws, they earned their closure.
