    ran accross this today:

Explore the innovative Thompson/Center Dimension rifle with interchangeable barrels, superior accuracy, and unique ergonomic design.

apparently the only down side I can see for the t/c dimension is that "you don't need a safe full of guns to have a variety of calibers." which to me is not a negative thing...

          Remington 700 BDL in .243

Head shot rabbits and you have a good meal.
Use a good bullet and put it in the right place and you have elk steaks.

(neither action is advised, both actions and everything in between is doable).

          1000 yards, not terrible.
carry lots of ammo? Mostly if you want.

You mean besides the patent that John Browning took out for a rotating barrel in 1897 (never made the gun), or the Steyr rotating barrel design that was manufactured starting in 1912, or the Beretta 8000 series that started being manufactured a decade before the PX4, or the Sigarms Mauser M2 that was produced for four years before the PX4?

There are others, I'm sure. But I do like the Storm.

i just saw an MGI hydra for the first time this weekend. i'd say it qualifies for the list.

the same shop also has an SRM 1216 on the wall, and that concept was new to me as well -- 16 rounds on a semiauto 12-gauge, carried in four rotating four-round magazine tubes.
