Psssh, boxes... I always buy by the case. I just wish I got more .22lr. Last time I bought ammo I walked out with over 1500rds in assorted calibers. Yea, I'll take all the hatorade for believing the NRA on our esteemed leader's second term.

I might suggest improving your SA and paying more attention to what is happening around you.

Waiting until after a panic starts is not going to get you much. The "dirtiest" (smartest) hoarders have been stocked up for a long time and maintain their stocks with continuing purchases. This also requires paying attention to find the things that are out of stock at most common locations.

Consider the current situation. Ammo availability has been improving for most calibers. Even .22 ammo is becoming easier to find. But consider what may happen if all of the current gun and ammo-related bills become law.

If I was a careful person, I might be thinking about increasing my stock right about now, while it is fairly easy to get.

True, I was shocked to see lots of Tula AK fodder on the shelf last trip to WM.

Buy when you can, stock up when its available b/c its not always there when you need it unless its in your possession! Or before proposed laws make it prohibitively difficult, expensive or impossible to get it.

Yeah, I have a couple boxes stocked over the years.

not one bloody thing did I stock up on. My stock was built before the panic. It's nice to have not run into any problems finding ammunition. It was even more fun watching everyone else go out and get ripped off.

Already had what I needed pre hoard time. Not into hoarding as most of the time it's wasteful and or herd mentality.

pre-painc your hoardering... was what id call saterday.

got into reloading about 2 months before this last round of panic and thank good i like to buy in bulk. Still im getting low by my standereds so hope to god the storm is almost over, or ill have to start rationing my fun / practice ammo. Being pre-paired is often taken for hoarding in my book.

I would agree and think the term "hoarding" is overused today.

Putting up stock for times of low availability is not hoarding. My grandparents canned and otherwise preserved food to get through the winter months. To them, it wasn't hoarding, it was common sense. I do the same with items that I either know or sense will be in short supply in the future.

I do not buy ammo. I reload.
I bought 22RF when it was $9.97/525 or 550 size box. Have about 30,000 rounds. "Wasteful or "Herd" mentality?? I think not. I had the money and my daughter would go thru a box or more each trip to the range. I actually saved money since the price of 22RF was $19.97/box before the panic. Not buying before would have been wasteful of my MONEY.

The price of ammo has only gone up since I started shooting(hunting) when I was a kid. It pays to stock up when you have the money since latter it will cost more anyway. I have done the same with reloading supplies.
