The Gun Range Sacramento

Eh not sure where to put this so if it's in the wrong area please feel free to move it. I stopped by Security and Firearms Training Center today to see if I could get some info on Security Companies that were hiring. Figured I would drop into the range since I have never been inside before. I was impressed when I was taking my Baton class because even though we were right next door I didn't hear a single shot.

The Gun Range was nice.. little small but had a reasonable supply of stuff. Shotguns were all over $300 had one consignment still way more than $199 Big 5 Shotty lol. Had a supply of AR's, Pistols and shotguns. Probably 40 handguns at the most and I might be being kind there in that count. Friendly staff were on hand. I was asked if I needed help within a reasonable amount of time. Service guy was very friendly and helpful. I wanted to look at a telescoping shotgun stock. I didn't look at the range but it was indeed a 25 yard range like I though. one of the downsides to indoor ranges.

Seemed like a nice enough place to shoot some pistols and maybe function test a shotgun. I still can't really bring myself to go to a 25 yard range. I'd rather make a day of it and go to SVSC. I guess if I needed to qualify it would be the best place. no sense driving all the way out to RCSC or SVSC.

I shoot pistols there often. Nice range, good people, great vibe. I bought a Sig and a Marlin over there - fair prices.
Two of the guys have taken time to help my girlfriend with shooting tips. (we all know how well our GF will take tips from us, ya? )

While it's more convenient to travel to than Sac Valley and it's cool that they allow long guns, shooting next to a guy rapid firing an AK is hardly a good way to teach your wife the controls of a new handgun. They should separate handguns and long guns there. It was loud and obnoxious.

There are separate rooms in the range; moving into a 'rifle' room seems polite to the handgun people, and that's what I did when I was last there.

Only works if there is room to do it though.

Was there yesterday. There were 5 of us and had 5 handguns and 4 semi-auto rifle. I made sure they put us in lane 14 and 15, all the way to the end because of the rifles.

They've allowed my 6 year old to shoot with me too. No other ranges in the area allow kids under 10
