    Gunshow question?

    Greetings,

So I'm interested in purchasing a rifle (7.62x39) or possibly a handgun, however I was wondering if it would be cheaper to wait for the Ontario gun show to roll through town, or to just make a trip to turners. The thing is, for the most part turners and most local gun shops around my area aren't having many good deals. It's like everywhere I look I see some dummy trying to price gouge the S*** out of other dummy's. I mean go look on armslist, gunbroker, gun trader etc and you will find everyone selling their gun for twice MSRP!?!? I mean c'mon!

So would I be saving any money by waiting for the gun show?? And if so, how much can I expect to save besides not having to pay for uncle sams blessings?

    Thanks in advance.

I have found the shows to be priced higher than gun shops. In fact one local shop will go to the show and add $50 to the price you would pay in their shop for the same gun.
Then the parking and cost to get in plus if it is a shop you still pay the tax.
If a private party you have the extra fees to DROS it.
However if you like high prices, pushy crowds, long lines, jewerly and beef jerky then the shows will be something you want to go to.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I rarely see prices at gun shows that are better than stores. Sometimes for used stuff, but almost never for new stuff.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

Yeah I see what you're saying, but its just really a pain to have to pay over a hundred dollars in tax and background when there is so much precious ammo to be bought lol. Idk I've never been o one either so I might check it out just to see what it is for myself

Definitely worth going to check out if you haven't been. However, as others have said you generally don't find real bargains.

Know the current prices of what you are looking for or you can get burned.
