Question regarding gun storage

Hello everyone, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask the question, but it is worth a shot.

Lets say I stay over at my boss's house sometimes when they are out of the country. Since staying over there by myself, I feel the need to protect myself. I know I can have a gun with me while I stay over. My question is, if I have a gun safe there and I leave my gun in there, will that be okay? My second question is, if my boss is back and I left my gun in the safe there, and one day an intruder comes in and is a threat. If my boss knows my safe code, can they use my firearm to protect themselves? What is the worse case scenario that can happen if they did?

I believe you can keep your gun stored anywhere you want with the homeowners/business owners knowledge and consent. If they were to use your weapon in defense of their lives/property they should be fine. The only issue I see is if the weapon is non-compliant.

What do you mean by non-compliant? Like an AR without a bullet button? Or 15 round mag? Not really sure what you mean. Thank you for the explanation.

That's what I thought, I've heard mixed answers regarding this issue, so I haven't kept my gun there. Still not really sure what is the right answer. I do believe WyattandDoc is right, that was my belief was.

For the second question, another condition would be that your boss should not prohibited from having access to a firearm.

Yea Mike, your right about that. The only issue I see is them not being a US citizen and they are just visiting. They do not have any misdemeanors or felonies, so I think that should be alright?

One question would be at what point does it differentiate between you storing your weapon at their house as opposed to you loaning them your weapon?

Loans are only supposed to be for 30 days max, and I beleive the borrower has to have an HSC.
