Visiting Santa Monica, Good Local FFLs?

Hey all,

I'm currently on vacation in Santa Monica visiting some extended family and getting Lasik surgery (which by the way is absolutely AWESOME), and I have some free time tomorrow and was thinking of hitting some of the local gun stores. What are some good local places out here? I'm only going to be here for another five days or so so I can't really buy any firearms, but I could use some other stuff such as some extra mags for my 1911 and possibly more ammo.

I've heard some good things about Fort Courage Armory here on Calguns, but it's about an hour drive from where I'm staying. Hopefully I'll be able to find something closer . . .

Rettings in Culver City? I think there is a Turners in the South Bay too.

MB Retting is much closer. I'm not too keen on their service, but the store itself is pretty nice.

Ditto to Martin B. Retting Guns (Culver City) ,and don't let any posters here sucker you out to Simi Valley or down to South Bay or O.C., that is time you can use looking and digging through all the milsurp at Rettings !

But if you do venture to the San Fernando Valley ,visit Northridge International (Showroom is open to public on Fridays & Mondays I believe)(And it's not in Northridge)

I think I've actually been to Retting's before, the last time I was down here. Seemed like a good enough place, I'll definitely check it out again.

Ditto ! on Northridge (I get an EG tobacco can AK cleaning kit everytime I visit ) and dont start me on their Mag pouch selection or their abundant USGI milsurp & .45 Auto stuff ... Forget Rettings and just visit Northridge

Rettings is really cool and has great selection.

Sometimes the service sucks, but the neat selection of stuff kind of makes up for it.

Well, I went on my shopping trip today. Went to Northridge, and it wasn't there! Their number's disconnected, and they've moved out of their building on Arroyo. Anyone know what happened to them?

I went to Rettings, and it was indeed the place that I visited before. Their reputation was upheld with admirable effort: I had to wait around 20 minutes before I could find someone to help me. They didn't have the holster I was looking for, but they did have 10-round 1911 mags, so I was somewhat pleased.
