Twice now I have dealt with complete *******s on here and left them negative feedback and twice it was removed. Isn't that the whole point of negative feedback? Why do they get to have their negative feedback removed? And to top that off one of them left me negative feedback in return to the feedback I left them AND IT IS STILL THERE. Talked to a couple mods and not even a response. Why is my negative feedback sticking to me and theirs gets removed? Do I just have to go cry to a mod or something? Sorry for the rant, it just doesn't seem fair that not only do they negatively respresent calguns and get away with it, but I get negative feedback in return for something i didnt do and it sticks?

If its happening more than once and you're the common denominator, maybe it's your approach that's the problem? -
after glancing over your thread it looks to me (and I have no ax to grind) that a guy committed to buy your shotgun, and from how I read it, you were still offering it for trade.
As in you were preferring a trade and would burn the cash buyer if a 686 trade showed up.
The cash buyer then backed out and left bad feedback.
(Pls feel free to correct any assumption made up above)
If that's the case, you exposed yourself to bad feedback.
Personally I only feel bad feedback is warranted if money has changed hands, but others have a broader criteria I guess.
Don't sweat it, everyone will collect a ding or two over the years, and in future here on calguns SPF means it cant be still offered for trade.Last edited by harmoniums; 09-05-2013, 2:15 PM.WTB Irish firearms:

^^^ This - Get another post and get off that devil count!
If all the cash buyers and those making trade offers followed through, then this logic might hold. BUT THEY DON'T! Even if you have only sold 1-2 things, you have probably dealt with flakes. I sure have. (And it makes me appreciate the real buyers and sellers I have dealt with even more!)
I think it is fully legit to publicly seek back-ups until the money changes hands. Especially when you have indicated "SPF" on the thread.sigpic

Perhaps he should have stated they were backup offers? The way it reads in the thread (at least to me) is that he would give preference to the trade over the cash buyer.Comment

Haha I just realized my post count. And I agree there's no reason to put feedback on someone if they back out of a deal. Things come up and people have to back out or change their minds. I would never take that personally. In regards to the shotgun buyer, he committed then backed out and lied about it being a complete jerk and left me negative feedback for taking backup offers even though I explained to him multiple times that I was committed to selling to him, but I digress. I only submitted feedback for behavior that no one should have to deal with. I just felt it was unfair that the mods removed his negative feedback and not mine (which was definitely not warranted), which honestly does not help if I'm trying to sell a firearm because I have had plenty of smooth transactions. Sorry for ranting guys.Comment
