    PPT

Ive never bough a used gun that i had to do a transfer for. When you do a PPT do you also have to pay sales tax on the gun? I also though i heard something about a safety inspectin from way back?

That's not good. I hope you mean you didn't have to go through an FFL for your C&R rifles. Modern guns need to go through an FFL and DROS transfer.

He might mean that all of his other used gun purchases came from a Dealers inventory, where he had to pay sales tax.

Dealers do not collect sales tax on PPT transfers. There is no safety inspection required on the firearm. If you are buying a handgun then you will need to do the safe handling demonstration though.
