    49er and illegal AR

Will be interesting to see how Aldon Smith is treated by Santa Clara DA regarding his supposed illegal ARs. Nothing like a bad law that affects one of your own star people. S.F. fans will be livid if Smith doesn't get to play because he is behind bars. Maybe they can blame Yee and Harris.

Yes. For some reason the issue of illegal AR is being brought up (either just now or again). I can't say that I remember the AR issue from back then...

probably the number one factor that is going to hurt a lot of those charged is the simple fact that they are unaware of California gun laws...seems like, unless you're constantly following a firearm orientated forum, you many never know about all the laws that have changed, until you're called out on it

after the majority of these new bs laws go into effect, I wonder how many current gun owners are actually going to be up to speed with the new laws...I wasn't even aware of the 10-round limit law until nearly two years AFTER it went into affect...I wasn't staying in California full time during that period and when I finally settled back in I found out about it

the HSC was also a new one for me...hadn't purchased a new firearm in a number of years, and, when I went to buy my 92fs a few years ago, I was told I needed one, even having already been a gun owner for over 20 years

funny how just a few feet of land can make you a felon....Arizona LEGAL, California, you're a FELON...makes no sense

why can't they just give out "fix-it" type tickets with these cases, instead of trying to criminalize gun owners? give them 15 days to make the firearm California compliant, and move on...I guess that's too simple, and, they can't ruin people's record that way

That's the argument I used in my letter writing against the new bills. We have tough laws for criminals using guns in crimes already. These are just anti-gun owner bills and serve no purpose except making accidental criminals out of working people.

Yep... ok officer; can I just give you the flash hider now so you can trash it back at the office so I don't have to come in? Here you go....

Anyway; a side benefit of the letter writing is now we can hound them on these things... its not like we didn't tell them this would be the result.. WE DID tell them and they didn't care.

Article says they are not sure to charge him with a felony or a misdemeanor ? Sounds like he already dropped the soap.

I hope he goes down like one of us would, maybe then this state's ridiculous laws would be brought to the attention of the ignorant in our state/country.

If he gets charged at all, it will be as misdemeanors and all he'll get is some community service talking to kids.

That would be my guess. Remember that ignorance of the law is only a defense against prosecution if you're rich/famous.

If he is convicted of violating PC 30600 (a) (1) as a felony(ies), he stands to lose his gun rights forever. I'll bet he's glad he moved to Cali now, huh?
