I have to ask you would shoot some one for walking through your property?

Very simple solution motion detector sprinkler used to deter animals fill the hose with bleach connect to spigot and when they come in the back yard those $200.00 tennis shoes and that other appropriate dress that kids so value today all turns white when they wash it or it falls apart if the concentration is strong enough.

Nobody hurt no law suits you were killing mold on the fence and forgot to turn the hose off.

You run out display your gun and a undercover federal narcotics officer draws and kills you OOOOOPPPPPPS

You better know who is trespassing and why before you do something stupid. I LEGALLY trespass all the time as part of my job. If you pull a gun on me and acted like a douche, I could end up owning your house. Then, you wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

If the gate has been damaged, you might have a case for vandalism.
I would call your local PD during weekday business hours and ask for community relations officer. I would tell him your problem without mentioning you have guns. Simply ask him what your legal options are. Try to sound like a nice guy just looking for answers, not some psycho gun owner looking for a reason to play Rambo.
You can use a gun to defend your life. Once you go outside your house, you just became George Zimmerman. Yes, it is legal to carry in your backyard if you have a solid fence, as previously advised. However, your flimsy gate makes me think your fence is a little questionable. Do you really want to risk it?
            Good luck.

You can legally force open a gate to go onto someone's property in the normal course of your work? Who do you work for???

AFAIK a locked gate, is a locked gate....you have no rights to break in!!! Only exception that I could think of is COPS chasing a perp or other such emergencies!!! And, it wouldn't be a routine thing as it looks to be in the OP's case!

Utility companies often have an 'easement' that allows them access to a property to service equipment. Things like telephone poles, water lines, gas pipes, underground vaults, etc.
The 'easement' gives them specific rights to access. Locked gate or not, this would probably not be considered trespassing.

If you can legally be on the property then you are not trespassing.

I never said anything about damaging property. But, Yes, I can legally find a way in if I need to.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Yes, you would be cited for brandishing at the very least. Unless you have a CCW and have it concealed. Nothing says you can't have a stun gun or pepper spray though.

Cheap game camera with a flash should scare them off the next time they come through. I dont blame you, and trust me I have wanted to pull mine out a few times but didn't for some of the reasons cited here. Sucks that you have to add extra locks, post No Trespassing etc. this day and age just so you can hopefully be covered if something happens.....you can thank our politicians that have made it impossible for our justice system to work correctly....it's a joke most of the time

Going out there with a gun is a problem just waiting to happen. Legal or not I wouldn't do it.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.
