    CMP Order (Ammo)

So I ordered some 30-06 ammo from CMP on July 31st and finally it shipped!
It was suppose to be delivered yesterday, (Aug 30 via FedEx) however that was not meant to be! Since it required a adult signature, my wife stayed home in the morning - I came back from work and stay home in the afternoon. FedEx didn't come in the morning and they didn't in the afternoon.
I called FedEx several times and they said the same thing; it's on the truck and it will be delivered.
About 7PM I called them since it was getting late and they told me the driver tired to deliver it but nobody was at home! Now get this; the driver just happened to not scan it nor did he leave a "missed delivery" note.
When FedEx told me that I exploded - big time! That FedEx driver is a lying, lazy SOB! Oh wait it gets better: Since it came via FedEx-ground, I wouldn't be able to get until Tuesday! I told them no thanks but I'll pick them up!
Now I had plan to go to the range on sat to test fire my new-acquired 1903a3but thanks to a lazy FedEx driver that didn't happen!
I have all emailed FedEx with a not-so-nice email and I plan to send a letter to FedEx corp headquarters on Tuesday. I hope that lying sack of crap driver gets canned!
I had several gun deliveries to my home done via UPS and never had a problem!

Always have it held at the local Fedex Store. I learned that the hard way but it makes it easier.

They won't hold ammo at the FedEx store. I've tried, specifically with '06 from the CMP.

They've held it for me once, it was from midway, but now that you mention it, I don't remember those hazmat stickers on it.

I always say hello to my UPS and FedEx drivers and if they have time, talk with them. They changed my FedEx delivery guy, but Mike has been my UPS delivery guy for 4 years or so. I have never had a problem with deliveries from either FedEx or UPS since I started talking with them. They know who I am and what my hobbies are, so when they see a box with my name on it, they are delivering it to a friend, not a random name that means nothing to them. USPostalService is a whole different matter, but that's because we don't speak the same language, and I mean that literally.

For some reason, I love UPS and hate FedEx. My UPS drivers are always cool and when people ship to me via UPS, I have the My UPS so I can route my packages to where and when I want to pick them up.

With any ammo, reloading supplies or guns, FedEx never has the options available on their website to do any of these, I have missed dozens of FedEx deliveries.

It has gotten so bad now that when I buy reloading supplies, ammo or C&Rs, if the vendor uses FedEx, I will buy elsewhere that uses UPS, even if it costs more.

This happened to me. Short of the story the driver tried to steal it.

Bummer. I've had at least 5 ammo shipments and 2 Garands from CMP held at the Kinkos down my street. I've even been asked if it was ammo because it was so heavy and confirmed it and they didn't bat an eye. I live in LA County so that is kind of surprising. I didn't think they had a rule against it.

Then again, you've got morons like this in the world that refuse to ship a package because it is "against their religion"

I dont know how many times I have stayed home waiting to sign for a FedEx GROUND package and am told the driver tried to deliver it and nobody was home.

I think this is standard operating procedure for the drivers when they run out of time and everyone all the way to the top know about it. Seems like a nationwide problem. FedEx Ground used to be or are contractors.
