    Dad / daughter shooting date

So cool when your 18 year old daughter says " let's go shooting dad"

Not too long ago, I had my 15 year old acknowledge that she wanted to go with me. The best time that I had with her in years! After we were done, she reported that she had a great time at which time I began to shed a few tears. Although I was a little emotional, she understood and said that we should do this more often. I had a very similar experience when her sister (older by one year) also said something similar the first time I took her.

Cherish these memories as they mean a lot to you AND your daughter!!

I've been taking her since she was 12. However teenage years got in the way. So my son and I kept it going till he enlisted in the army. Now that my daughter is out of HS there's a little more time for mom& dad.

I fully understand. Being a teenager can be more important to the girls for obvious reasons, however it is still very special for daughters to want to spend time with their fathers. I'm glad you had a "blast" with your girl.

I also have a 1942 Remington 81A in 35 Remington that I will be shooting for the first time since buying from a fellow Calgunner

That's a fine moment in life! My daughter is 10 and just started shooting recently, I wasn't sure she would take to shooting. We borrowed a BB gun, which she enjoyed...good....next was a Beretta neos and she didn't like the pistol, ok. Next was a 10/22 and that was better but still didn't REALLY enjoy it...getting a little worried. I then borrowed a friends 17HMR Savage, hook-line-sinker, she loves that rifle. Enough that she convinced my friend to sell us that specific rifle AND she saved some of her allowance so it could be HER rifle! Now, she will ask me to go shooting!
