    Damn, I am getting old

Went to the eye doc last week and sure as spit, mi ojos no bueno. Had to get glasses for driving. On the upside I can see clear as day at a distance now. Downside is the glasses make reading up close near impossible. Maybe I need bifocals with the next pair?

Now I have to get my butt to the range and see how this is going to change things.

Anyone else getting old/ getting glasses?

You'll start to feel it in the gym too, muscles are sore longer and you'll not be as strong. Growing old sucks.

They make different glasses for near sighted and far sighted. If you can't see close up; they may have made you the wrong kind.

I'm having the same problem (have to take my glasses off to read up close). I got the wrong kind / didn't have the problem before this pair I have now.

Unfortunately I've worn glasses since grade school (near sighted).

As I've grown older I have found that my ability to see things up close with the glasses on is becoming weaker and weaker.

My eye doctor said it's because my range of focus is going down. Happens to everyone, I just remove the glasses to adjust to close in work.

Last time I was at the eye doctor, she showed me what a prescription tuned for near vision would look like. I was.... surprised and dismayed. It would seem that some form of progressive or bifocal might be in my future.

Lol....welcome to my world. I just aim my sights by memory and not by seeing it. My optometrist told me that due to the hardening of the cornea that we have a hard time trying to focus. He said equate it to a camera lens with auto focus but the auto focus mode is stuck to a particular setting.

The good news is that with your new glasses you will be able to see the targets down range really well, you'd think this will make you a better shooter.

The bad news is that you wont be able to see the sights, either way you are screwed!!
Congratulations and welcome to old age, it aint for wimps!

Don't complain. I had to go to trifocals long ago. Eye glasses are a lot less painful than some of the corrective surgeries I've had to have due to age degeneration.

Ouch...those things are a hassle. I was talking to an Israeli colleague last week, he used to a sniper in the Israeli military (I work for an Israeli company) but now requires trifocals, he too says it sucks big time. Especially when your eye sight used to be excellent, its almost cruel.

Mike, maybe you need to find another Optometrist.
He should have known you'd have problems reading with glasses made for nearsightedness, that's his freakin' job.
