    Registration questions

My apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

Registration of arms. (rifle & pistol)

I don't know the laws about this and I have heard misleading information.

I have addresses in three states but my primary is in CA. Am I allowed to use the other addresses to register arms if they are not my primary address?

If I can, the arms I register must stay in that state?
If I do want to bring a firearm into another state I must go to an FFL to transfer the address?
Can I use a gun in the other state for temporary usage then take it back to the original state?

    Thanks

You may get more help with this question in the FFL forum, as they would know more about the gun laws, etc. I would also trust the word a FFL more then a average citizen as the laws in CA can be complex

You have to decide whether you are a resident of 1, 2, or 3 states. Simply having an address in a state does not establish residency in that state, and individual states have differing regs.

      Here's what the feds think -- http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Fe...y_requirements.

A shorthand guess is 'from what address do you file Federal taxes?'; if your state has state income tax, one might use 'in which state do you file resident (as distinct from non-resident) state income tax?'. But the shorthand is not definitive.

OUR Calguns FFL members are usually pretty good, but relying on an FFL to know the details of the law has turned out to be less than a good general solution.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thank you! I did read that page from your link and that did answer a question.

Rhetorical question. Can laws get any more convoluted than they are now with so many interpretations depending on what attorney is arguing what it says.
