Body Kit for my AR15

Found a pretty extensive write-up someone did for a nerf gun conversion to a replica rifle of the one used in the movie Oblivion (2013).



I think I'm going to do this for my next AR build. I think I've worked it out so it will takedown just as easily and the stock will still telescope.

My only issue is trying to engineer some sort of charging handle mod so that it will operate from a forward position like a tavor or ACR.

I wanted to do this too until I saw the price for a bushmaster ACR base rifle.
Using anything else wouldn't be screen accurate.

I think I'm going to use a smooth sided upper, and mill out a window to put in a modified charging handle that I'll fab up or have a shop make. I thought about making it side charge from the bolt and attaching a forward rod but then the CH would reciprocate with every shot; dont want that.

I'm not sure if he's casting a full replica or just a kit for an airsoft gun which could be adapted to an AR.
