10/22 extractor issue

Hi guy's & gal's, I've got a 10/22 TD, and some times it FTE.
( about every 40 rds )
Now I'm looking to see what other's have used to correct the problem.

I'm wondering what after market extractor's you've used with success.

was eye balling a Kidd & volquartsen extractor's are there better choice's ?

I have the volquartsen extractor in my 10/22 TD & it works fine. I haven't tried any other brands so I couldn't tell you it's the best, but it works better than the stock one, even with bulk ammo.

Why not send it back to Ruger under warranty? They pay the shipping both ways and will probably throw in a free mag if you ask.

My original 10/22 (metal trigger group/$99 cost to date it) ran for well over 30 years just fine with the stock extractor. That despite the fact I hardly ever cleaned it.

You can still send it in and then use the part later if you feel the need. A free mag is a free mag. When mine went in I didn't need any more mags but they installed a set of their Fire Sights for my trouble when I asked.

Volquartsen, Kidd, Power Custom...all are the same and better than stock.
You can also rework your original extractor if you are handy with tools to get the same result.

I had the same problem out of the box. Changed it out with a volquartsen and it has been flawless.

On a related note. Had to send my TD to Ruger for some other work and I mentioned the extractor issue. They changed it out and I haven't had an issue with it either. The volquartsen is now in the bag as backup.

All I got was a silicone rag. Probably because this was during the panic and mags were oos.

I have changed mine a bit, so don't know how they'd fell about that.
Changed site's to Bravo AK style had them pressed in, also butler cr folding
Stock, which is sooo comfortable to shoot w/grip.

Maybe they wouldn't care ? don't know...
