    duracoat for guns?

does anyone know where i can get duracoat to refinish my mossberg 500? I would prefer local store to fremont/sanjose area. If not what is the cheapest place online with the biggest variety of colors?

I don't want to sound like I'm bad-mouthing your Mossy (I have a 500 as well), but would it be worth duracoating it? I mean, it's only about $250 for another one at Big 5.

i like the word custom =P i only bought it for 200 and i use to work at a body shop so painting is easy. I was going to powdercoat it but decided to just duracoat because powdercoat gets thick and would probally give me troubble later on putting everything back together. I love the stock rem 870 black and would like to get as close to that as possible on the mossy.

Used tan and brown "Fleckstone" Krylon on mine. One of the best textured desert camo jobs ever!

Midway USA carries pretty much the entire line of Dura Coat colors:

Hard to say, but I can tell you that I have never seen it in stock in any of the local stores here in SD. Midway has a pretty good shipping department, I've always received ther stuff very quickly.

Lauer or Midway. Same stuff is available via your local Sherwin-Williams store...ask for Polane. Probably special order, and bring your wallet

DuraCoat has a shelf life so stocking it isn't that profitable.

This statement is untrue. I asked Steve Lauer about this rumor while attending the Certification class and he said the products are different and Lauer's labs have never dealt with Sherwin Williams in anyway.

I called all of the local stores here in Sacramento and no one here carries it. It pops up on ebay and amazon sometimes but it is normally the same price as midway.
