So, I'm in the process of buying my first gun, I don't want to come across as cheap, rather just looking for the best deal I can get with my hard earned cash. A local store of mine is selling a SIG P6 for 400, but shopping online I see a bunch of them go for about 130 less, but involves shipping to an FFL, paying all the fees, of which might end up being somewhat close to the store's price of 400. All of this is somewhat of a headache to me and was wondering if you guys think it would be the wiser choice to just go local and save myself the trouble, or go through the internet and save myself the money through a process I might be making too complicated in my head.

I was having the same dilemma. I ended buying my P6 locally because the difference wasn't worth the work for me and besides I try to support my local gun shop as much as possible.Comment

Internet deals look good when you live in the free world. When you live in the PRK, DROS and sales tax almost always cancel out an internet deal. FFLs can also charge a fee for the tranaction, which IMHO is justified, since they have to do the paperwork. Find a good ffl you can work with and go thru him...you have to eventually anyways.Comment

Yeah, I've been stalking the forums since I registered last week, really looking for that P6 though, held one and I just loved it. Of course the price they're going for helps too. So does anyone know if that Turner's deal is still valid? If it isn't I'll probably just end up picking it up locally.Comment
