Unpleasant interaction with other Instructor at Angeles

Was up at the Eagles Nest private ranges Sunday with a friend for Stan Lee of TASC's shotgun 202 course

We arrived alittle early before the 1230 pm start time and we had never been to the particular C range where it would be scheduled so we parked in the lot for A range to look for a map or ask directions.

As soon as we got out of the car we were confronted by a man we later learned was most likely an instructor from another course. He demanded to know why we were there and his body language, demeanor, and posture was indicative of hostility or just rude at the least

I stated calmly that we were here for shotgun 202 with TASC. We already paid in advance for use of the range so we were authorized to be there. He stated curtly that there was no such class here

I said that it was to be at C range

He says C range is not here

I ask if he knows where it is

He says he does not know

I forget what else was said just that we were both off put by the apparent hostility

We walked over to the sign then figured C range was on the other side and drive and parked there

When we got to C range, we looked over to see the guy staring at us from his side

    Creepy

We told Stan about it and he said it was not the first time it had happened

If it was on the A Range, the only other person teaching up there would have been Uncle Scotty Reitz of ITTS.

We were in the parking lot only between

We did not enter any ranges that we did not belong in

If it was then that's too bad, we wanted to take his class at ITTS in the future. If he didn't like us because we were taking Stan's class instead that day and was unwelcoming, that's too bad for all of us. We would have been good students and benefited from his instruction. In before the fan boys start saying he doesn't need my business anyway.

Ive trained with both up there and would recommend them both. Having said that, Uncle Scotty has been doing this awhile so maybe old age is making him even more crusty. Who knows.

Yeah, Stan said the same thing.

But I don't know what Uncle Scotty looks like so I can't say with certainty who it was.

While we certainly would not expect a hearty warm welcome, a polite/reserved "Hi guys" followed by "what brings you two up here/can i help you find your class" is something I would have expected from an instructor. But who knows.

My guess is lead poisioning. Trade hazard when working at a range. Sympts include:
1.Headaches, irritability, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, difficulty learning or concentrating, aggressive behavior.

People do that to you, turn it around.

                  "Who are you?"
                  "Do you work here?"
                  "Are you the rangemaster?"
                  "Show me some credentials"

You don't get to demand answers from me until I know who the **** you are.

Well, in the video I saw him in, he was sporting the sweet permed mullet.

You should have done him a favor and told him to make sure he wasn't off his meds.

Well, it is LA, people are rude and inconsiderate all over LA. But still, what a great way to welcome new shooters to the fold. It takes more effort to be a wanker than to be nice.

That was something I forgot to ask

Also he had a sidearm holstered and his demeanor suggested he was fast on the draw must have subconsciously made me want to get out of that situation ASAP rather than escalate and piss him off. He was pretty intimidating.
