First Time to Field-time Indoor Range (Stanton)

I finally got a chance to make it out to the Field Time Indoor Range in Stanton CA last night with a few buddy's. I always heard it was a cool clean place but I figured you've seen one range you've seen them all. Outdoor ranges seem to be a lot more lax than indoor ranges for good reason but still it gets taxing sometimes when ROs are all over everyone for the smallest things and are breathing down your neck.

Anyways so we get there and first off its a NICE facility brand spanking new all the new range equipment clean gun counter and decent selection of guns and ammo. Again assuming it was going to be full if unhappy workers with some slight attatude, but to my surprise we walk to the counter and the desk guys were super professional with a professional attatude and proficient to say the least. They looked over all guns and ammo and sent us to our lane.

We arrive to our lane and I see 2 range officers (older gentlemen) and assume oh here we go now were goin to be on watch duty being I'm a younger guy (23, my buddy 25) waiting to get flack because we're young. But that was not the case at all. They were very friendly and were active walking and sweeping the line and quick to offer someone help if they saw trouble. Very posative attitude than the norm robo cop mentality most ROs I've met have. My other buddies down on a different line were pretty newish and don't shoot all that often and the ROs were helping them with great hands on service commenting on their groups and helping them with a few hick ups they had with their guns.

A huge plus for this range is you can shoot Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol at this range which is huge being the closest indoor range to do so is about 20 miles from me and a bit of a trip. This is maybe all of 8 min drive. Anyways I assumed like most ranges you would have to either be a member or pay some stupid "safety fee" of $25 to $35 to even be able to bring a rifle or shotgun to the range but I was surprised and happy to see there was no charge and no class requirement. It was nice to shoot with very light but realistic rules.

I went and got my 930 shotgun learning you don't need a cert to shoot it and the desk guys again were very helpful with (no head shots and slow fire). We were againt the wall and I guess range policy for good reason said no shotgun or rifle on walled lanes. We didn't know that until a RO came up nicely and told us and we said sorry we didn't know the desk guy didn't tell us. He said "I'm not mad at all, I'm just letting you know it you know what let me check and see if its ok", comes back and says "you know what I talked to the desk guys we looked at you 2 and you know what your doing so have at it just try not to shoot our walls" (in a joking tone) again super friendly all around. He stuck around being my shotgun was probably the loudest thing on the line and we have a good non FUD conversation for the rest of our range time while shooting.

We stayed till closing time and went to check out for our fee. We had a conversation with the desk guy who asked us how it went and was again super cool and we stayed and chatted for a bit then took off.

Anyways I just wanted to wright this out to give FTSR a thumbs up in hope that some of them are members here and can see that they are doing a great job and that they make it a great experience and range all around. Amazing facility and employees behind the desk and on the range. Also so that anyone in OC or around thinking about or wanting to hit this range I highly reccomend you do. This will be m new to to shooting spot from now on as long as it stays this way.

So Fieldtime Indoor Range you guys are awesome keep up the good work and good vibes. We need more ranges like you guys around OC.

So field time indoor range gets a A++ from me, and I don't get impressed easily unless its an excelent experience all around.
