    How long should we wait?

Hello, first off let me state that I am not having a problem with this, but I am just curious. If we list a firearm or accessories for sale in the marketplace, how long should we wait for the buyer to come through with the funds (or items for trade) after th buyer states "I'll take it." I was browsing the marketplace rules and couldn't find it anywhere. But how long would you wait before moving on to the second in line, or even third party in line?

I have waited as long as five days. Good communication was the only reason I was comfortable with that. Sometimes it is hard to meet during the week with work, so my expectation is to have things wrapped up over the weekend.

normally you would contact them and set the date. If the date isnt acceptable, the deal is off. You are under no obligation to wait longer then you want.

Just be nice about it when telling them to, "re- I'll take it" in two weeks when they get paid and no one else has bought it.

I have accepted collateral as a hold for allowing the buyer time to gather funds.

The buyer gave me a $1200 BC Rich as collateral for a $100 Magpul stock. In two weeks he was going to buy the guitar back for $100 and get a free Magpul stock, or he was going to just get a $100 magpul stock in trade for the guitar. Those were the terms of the deal for me to wait 2 weeks for him to gather the $100.

Yeah I have medium communication with the buyer. But the buyer isn't local to me. Was just curious if there was a standard protocol for how long we should wait. Like I said, I'm not having a problem, I'm just curious. All of my firearm transactions on here have been trades anyways.

          Communication is key.

If the buyer has something pop up that is going to affect the transaction, he should let you know. As well, if you have an issue, you should inform him in a timely manner.

How long have you waited? How long since the last contact? Is it a high dollar item? How bad do you need to sell? Any back up buyers? Lots to consider!

I give them 3 days. No reply in 5 its back up for sale. If it doesn't sell then they can reclaim it. If it sells sorry that's poor communication on their part.

I've had that happen to me a good amount of time where the buyer was all over it and I rejected other offers to find out in their post history they slapped 30FS threads saying ill take it and ended up going else where and not notifying me. But you live and ou learn and all my stuff sold so no harm done.

But I'd say no reply in 5 days let them know its goin back up for sale. Cash is king and its not sold until funds are transferred unless you have a meeting agreement already set obviously unless it falls through its sold then.

The only thing I have an issue on is I should be at 24/100% but some guys don't know how to leave feedback and either leave me a comment on m profile wall or just don't return the favor of a itrade.

In my opinion, a buyer shouldn't say "I'll take it" unless they have the money now, or have already worked out arrangements with the seller.

24 hours unless they've given you a good reason to wait longer.
IE: I'll take it, but I need to pay in two days after my check clears.
Otherwise, there's other people in line, it's not fair to make them wait.
I use to be an anarchist but I quit that; there's too many rules.

Arrangements for payment should be made as soon as contact is initiated.

I have asked for a Paypal deposit when the actual exchange would take place several days away. For buyers that are sending USPS money orders I expect them to get the money order and mail it Priority Mail the day after we have agreed on payment terms and have them send me a tracking number.

Until I receive a deposit or payment in full the item is SPF. I make this known to the buyer. Incidentally I only accept cash, Paypal, and USPS money orders.

I would state in the ad that backup offers were being taken and also tell any backup buyer that their offer was accepted as a backup and tell them when a final decision would be made.
