hey guys, need a little help on this one. I may be in the position where i can begin a DROS, then need to leave for an out of country detail that will last more then 30 days. can someone else pick up my rifle after the 10 days is up, or does it need to be me? anyone heard of a way to solve this issue? I guess I can have the FFL just hang onto the weapon until i get back to begin the DROS if he is willing to.

^^^this. I've done this before actually.Originally posted by TomVYou MAY be able to start the DROS before the Rifle actually arrives at your FFL. That might buy you a day or 2 ?"Freedom begins with an act of defiance"

Just call and ask. Worse they can do is say no.
No S/N required for DROS on long gun, and IIRC, they will only need s/n to log in and out of their inventory for the transfer.sigpic
