    Question for Kimber owners.

I'm in the process of breaking in my Eclipse Target II. So far im at 500 rounds, and still having feeding problems ever 20 shots or so. How long did it take you guys to fully break in your 1911 to the point of very reliable results? Thanks

Never - I had to break out the files and polishing cloth to make it feed reliably.

I got 1 FTF for first 200 rds every 2 mags, now my Raptor is perfect, to tight gap between extractor and breech.
        Do it yourself.

Raptor II - no issues since it was taken out of the box.

              First 300 rounds had a few FTE's,
around 480 it all came together...

              What kind of feeding problems??
Are the rounds not chambering at all,
ie hanging up on the ramp???

Also, What mags are you using???

With my Ultra CDP carry I had to go with Wilson mags before I was 100% with it.

The first thing I did after getting my Eclipse Custom II 10mm (after cleaning) was rapidly firing two full mags. I wanted to make sure I didn't get one of those musta-been-made-on-Monday Kimbers. Not a hiccup then, not a hiccup since.

                    Love it.

Gold Combat II - Had 5 FTRB out of the box with the first 10 mags (Kimber ProTac). Replaced the recoil spring with an 18 lb spring and have had no issues since. I've had it for 2 years with 2,000 rounds through it.

Stainless TLE/RL II - No issues whatsoever out of the box. Had that gun for a year and put 1,200 rounds through it before selling it. I'm still having remorse for that

I've owned two TLE RLIIs, A 5" CDP and 3" CDP and they all were reliable and dependable since taken out of the box.

Raptor II & Ultar Raptor II Perfect out of the box. Custom II no issues either. Pro Carry II FTRTB, FTF issues. Sent back to Kimber after 300 rounds. Slide work, Spring & extractor replacement polish feed ramp and it still has FTRTB issues after 100 rounds.

The last time I cleaned it I oiled it and lubed it with the special Copper Glock paste hoping it would smooth out any rough edges.

I'll let you know how it shoots this week when I take it to the range for another 100-200 rounds.

If you continue to have problems contact Dennis @ Kimber. The turnaround was 8 days my door to door.

Call Kimber on Monday and see what they say. Depending on your specific problem, they may send you a part (like a slide-stop) or request you have the gun picked up and sent back to Kimber for them to remedy any problem.

Ultra CDP II and Pro Carry II not one FTE/FTF using the standard factory Mags. I picked up a couple of Wilson Mags, but have to tried them yet. The first 300 rounds on the CDP, I was just putting in 5 rounds at a time, now I'm fully loading it. Are you using 230 ball ammo? Kimber also said it about 500 rounds for breakin.
