After seeing the aimpoint get beat to all hell and blown up in the Daniel Defense torture test, I'd consider it best value if you are concerned about the return on your investment.

I have both and like both. Different, but good.

            With that said.....

The Aimpoint battery life argument is overblown considering that 95% of the people using them are never more than hour away from a store that sells batteries. Even then, everyone should have an extra battery for their optic in their range bag. Unless you are downrange in hostile territory, a dead optic battery is not going to be catastrophic when you are with your buddies shooting at dirt mounds in BLMistan.

I have heard more stories of Eotechs breaking and I saw a very old 512 thumbscrew snap off on one of our duty rifles. My personal experience owning several of my own is that they have been 100% reliable.

Yes, the Eotech reticle is useful for closer range snap shooting and "house clearing", but how many folks are going to be clearing any house but their own house and only then to impress their wives/girlfriends with their tactical moves learned from watching 'Strikeback'?

I personally like Eotech better. Our duty weapons have them so I have spent a lot more time shooting with them. I have an Aimpoint Pro too which is totally solid and I have no plans to sell it. You can even shoot the Aimpoint with the front cover closed and hit your target. (Try it). I do not pick up the single red dot as quickly as I can the Halo reticle. I prefer the field of view better on the Eotech as well.

Another satisfied Aimpoint user/owner here. Using the H1 w/ LaRue tall mount...spare battery fits inside the mount.

Most dudes would be gtg with a Bushnell TRS-25. Same battery life, reticle, and weight. Much cheaper than the T1.
Probably wouldn't survive an IED so if that is your regular commute, hope you come home safe.

I'm wanting to do some longer range shooting with the AR I posted above but figured I'd need a scope to get any real distance out of it.
Human sized silhouettes at the Angeles Shooting range, no magnifier. The Aimpoint dot is very clear, and a good size MOA so you can compensate for drop. http://www.angelesranges.com/Pictures/index.html Look under "rifle range," second row right for a feel; 100 yard berm, 100 yard additional for each "level." With a red dot with no magnification, if you can see it than you can shoot it. The ping is hard to hear with the other guns going off.

haha...I have seen that when we used to have cable tv, but I also was trained in room clearing/MOUT among other things while in the Marines, still trying to impress/teach my wife haha...

I have a TRS-25 on my M&P 15-22, and it's a nice red dot for the price. But IMO the red dot is no where near as clean & clear looking compared to the 2 MOA on an Aimpoint optic. It's like once you've tasted that fine wine, it's sometimes hard to go back to the cheaper stuff.

Granted it would be great to have a T1, you can almost buy 6 extra TRS-25's for that same price. If the T1 was closer to the PRO pricing, then it would be more attractable. But each person has different needs, and some feel the price justifies the usage they'll get out of it.

If you can see the T1's dot clearer than the TRS-25, definitely get the T1. They all look like the same to me.. blobs and comets.

I have an Eotech but have never even looked through an Aimpoint. A guy had a good price while was was starting to compare, so I got the Eotech.

It's really easy and fast to shoot, and I can shoot with both eyes open. Seems like less tunnel vision.

It's on a 16" FAL, so it's not supposed to be a tack driver, but I can hit steel rapidly with it out past 100y, which is basically all I have tried to do with it.
