    Next generation guns! All electronic!

    Interesting idea.

Needs to get the muzzle velocity up and rotate the magnetic field so the bullet spins.

Good news - no more running swabs down the barrel to clean things.

Hm, I think I have a new winter project, probably skip the full auto and just try for much higher velocity.

Maybe multiple stages instead of one coil, trigger off of opto interrupters.

      Maybe a Coil shotgun.

          paintball markers did this

reliability went down the toilet in the beginning

people are still running old school Autocockers and automags; bunch of O rings vs electronics

It needs a mass effect field generator to work properly.

same concept as the MagLev and Disney California Adventure California Screamin' Roller Coaster.

I don't think you have seen paintball guns lately, guns of any quality now have "eyes" to tell if there is a ball in the chamber or not, all firing is controlled by a solenoid. Granted there are still plenty of O-rings in the gun.

There were 8 coils in his gun, and he was using IR optos to trigger each coil.

Double the # of coils, run the whole gun by timing rather than using up space to put the optos.
