    Smith and Wesson 4006 Issue

Anyobody have this issue I have 6 magazines for it. One of the magazines for some reason when in the gun is I guess not hitting the magazine disconnect lever so the gun will not fire with this magazine in it.

Freaked me out as I thought I had broke my gun lol. Every other magazine will work and fire no issues. Anybody ever ran into this bottom and if so do you just throw the magazine away or try and fix it?

The gun was given to me, the magazine follow shows gun powder like it has been fired a lot. Kinda freak me out when playing with it.

Clean the magazine "box" and also the follower. The mag disconnect on 3rd Gen S&Ws is dis-engaged by a lever which is pushed up into the slide by the magazine. If the follower's dirty it could be getting stuck in the mag, preventing it from lifting the disconnect plunger enough to actuate the trigger.

I owned a 5906 and sold it when I realized its ergos didn't match my hands. Lovely pistol, but I literally shoot every gun ive ever handled ,including a friend's revolver, better then S&W legacy semiautos . I bought a 4566 and hit the target retainer at 7 yards in DA. The SA shots made one hole.

Oh my god somebody probably gave you a gun that I sold to them years ago. I once had a Smith&Wesson 4006 . That thing was like a brick. Basically shooting .40S&W without any recoil. I had 7 or 8 magazines for it and it would jammed every few rounds. It was a nightmare. I finally sold it at half the cost and was happy that it was gone.

And yes, it was disclosed when it was sold.
