I went thru my safe today. Everything in there is in line to be
reclassified next year as an assault weapon and a banned firearm.
But for one, they all have brown wooden stocks and long barrels.
My pride and joy is my scoped 52C, I love punching those green rings.
No gangbanger in his right mind would ever show up for a drive by
with that thing, though it can pluck the earing off of any cholo
at 150 yards.
So, my assault weapons will be dead-ended. I won't be able to sell
them or give them away. When I die, does the state just drop by and
tell the wife, "these are ours now?". I don't know really.
In a just recent thread, (sorry didn't mark it), Clint Monfort
from Michel and Associates of Long Beach said that they are
"all over this like yesterday". I hope so, but maybe I would
be foolish to place my "junk" in that hope basket.
What about the ammo Internet sales? What about the 25 other bills?
That "brier patch" guy already disappeared. Is Clint going to
fix all this by himself?
I'm thinking that while my C&R is still good, probably the smartest
thing to do is sell off the least favorite guns now, enjoy my
best ones for a short while and see what happens next year.
The scary part is the, "register and they come after you" or
don't register and they find you scenario.
I pictured my retirement somewhat different than this.
Silly me, should have embraced stamp collecting instead.
What a country!
