over size Charging handle latch question

Hi guy's, I've recently mounted a scope on 308 AR, and charging to battery is not what you call great. Looking @ so many over size charging latches, some not so good, according to reviews. What do you guy's recommend, for a good quality latch that work as smooth as possible. Made in America a + Thanks ...

I've got three different types on my AR15's. All work well for me.

But on my AR10, I've got a charging handle on the bolt. A good 'smith should be able to hook you up with one.

SDgarrick : is your Badger latch on a 308 platform AR ?

desertrider : Thought about a side charging handle, but don't want to alter the rifle like that if I don't have to. So still looking for info on over size latch...

        All input helpful, and thanks...

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but those oversized latches dig right in your back when you have the rifle slung on your back. Don't get me wrong, I still have one on my scoped Ar with 18" barrel but none of the others

I had this one on my AR, and really liked it until I was up and moving. I found it caught on my gear quite a bit while I was moving.

I use the Tac-Ops on my 7.62 ARs. They are VERY beefy, clear all optics and give you the added bonus of charging with either hand. I use/have used Badger handles on my 5.56 ARs and while they are OK, they are nowhere near as solid as the Tac-Ops. I remember calling the seller a while back to make sure it would fit in a POF .308 and the guy was very cool.

Thanks fellas for the input. The TacOps-1 looks to be very well make, also BCM is very nice indeed. Any recommendations for the Ambi latch ?...

Bcm mod 4 (large) is best with optics. They make them for ar10 as well. Love them and have on all my AR's.

                            +1 on the TacOps-1

I got it mainly because I'm a lefty with pretty large hands. Works great, real solid.

Guys, thanks for the info re: the TacOps-1 charging handle. I hadn't heard of this until now.

I was leaning towards the BCM for my LR-308 build, but after reading up, I ordered the TacOps-1 instead. Looks like a winner!
